Overview
Converting your overhead service line to underground removes the risk of storms and trees bringing your power down, frees up the space above your driveway and cleans up the look of the house.
We design the route, handle the trenching and cabling, coordinate with the network and connect the new underground service.
What gets replaced
The overhead service line from the street pole to your house is replaced with an underground cable, run from the network pole or pillar to your meter box in conduit. A pole-top termination and riser are installed on the network pole where required.
Network approval
The conversion is notified to Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy, and the route has to meet the Service and Installation Rules for depth, conduit and clearances. We design the route, lodge the paperwork and do the work.
Planning around renovations
If you're renovating or adding a storey, converting at the same time is usually cheaper and easier, as trenches and wall penetrations can be coordinated with the builder.
